Our Founders

Lena Shumaeva

Lena is about to graduate from Colorado University of Denver with a degree in Architecture and Planning. She has a great passion for art and design. You can find her leaning over a tipped drafting table in her basement studio at any time of the day or night. She believes that art is life and there is always space for aspiration to excellence.

Yulia Belyaeva

Yulia received her bachelor degree in Early Child Education and masters in Psycology. She has a decade long experience working with preschool, elementary and middle school age children teaching art and design. She currently resides in Greenwood Village, Colorado and raising two beautiful daughters.


Rebecca Miller

Rebecca Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in theatre with an emphasis in acting from California State University Fullerton. She spent the next five years working as a theatre professional in Chicago and studying improvisation at the Improv Olympic, Second City, and Annoyance theatres. Rebecca has taught theatre to children of all ages and loves helping others realize their potential through the power of the creative arts.

Alessia Shem

Alessia studied at the University of Culture and Art in Saint-Petersburg, Russia in 2014-2016 specializing in jazz and pop vocalist. She has participated and won a lot of international vocalist competitions and travelled around the world for musical experiences taught by professional musicians. Alessia has adapted a Culture and Art University based program for teaching vocals and also includes some of her own breathing and singing exercises. During the session she accompanies the students on the piano and guitar

Stan Karpenko

Stan Karpenko is a guitar player that have more than 8 years of professional experience as a performer and more that 7 years as a music teacher. The experience has been gained in performing with numerous bands and orchestras all over the Eastern Europe and USA as well as participating in a talent show Voice (Ukraine) playing guitar for the orchestra. In-depth knowledge of music theory, up-to-date educational materials, sight reading skills and a variety of styles helps to find a way to almost every student, from kids to adults, and bring your skills to the desired level.

Lisa Corine von Koch

Lisa Corine von Koch holds Master’s degree in Fine Art in Painting and Drawing from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from the University of Utah. She began teaching at ASU as a graduate student, and was then hired as an Adjunct Professor at Phoenix Community College and Mesa Community College. Lisa was the Interim Professor of Drawing for a one-year Sabbatical replacement at Bloomsbury University and currently teaches as an Affiliate Faculty member at Metropolitan State University.

Amanda Simonds

Amanda Simonds is a spirited and devoted art educator and maker. Native to Baltimore, she earned her Masters of Arts in Education at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Amanda currently teaches Kindergarten-8th grade art at Belle Creek Charter school; this is her third year teaching. She loves to do art and yoga on her time off. Amanda teaches at the LAV School Saturday mornings


I have an art degree and my background is in early childhood development background. I am also the mother of a sixteen year old boy and twelve year old girl who both love to experiment with art. My classes not only emphasize basic art techniques but also focus on creating an educational and fun environment with music, stories, and multicultural art study.


Summer Lusk holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Colorado—Boulder. Summer also holds an International Diploma from the National Guild of Piano Teachers (a division of the American College of Musicians). She has 10+ years of experience teaching violin, piano, music theory, and ear training, in addition to having performed in numerous venues worldwide.
